As many, if not most would appreciate, Dr. Chops is one hell of a talented sonofabitch. He has his mother to thank for this. Not only does he prize his skills with a sequencer & some well placed & multi LED faceted analog synths, but also evokes deep cavernous emotive motifs with nothing more that a few strings strung on a guitar or bass. Yes, he’s one mother fucker of a talented beast. I envy him so…
To extend past the success of his psychedelic sojourns of his Aalien Mind Garden trance era, I am pleased to provide a taste of what came before this. Long before. At this time he was simply known as Texture. It is rumoured that in this incarnation Dr. Chops had locked himself in his downstairs room in self imposed exile to the world for approximately 8 years, coming up only to work as an obscure Hardware hand, selling paint products to builders & newly weds. (Those who would least suspect the latent talent & brilliance that lay beneath the rather simple surface of he who is known by his music as ‘Texture’). It was in this tiny subterranean studio that Texture formed into the expressive supernova that was to spew forth the frightening talent, hitherto unbeknownst to the world.
To understand, (or to grapple with) this work, I herby invite you to download a copy of this most rare of works. You may in fact be the first to hear it. Then again maybe not. As he was once quoted as saying, “Who gives a fuck anyway”.
Please enjoy Setting sun, by Texture. Or not. Or just fuck off. |

I know this song, since I heard it on your CD, and I'm glad to see you uploaded it to Uncut Japan! Texture is definitely a whole different sound from Aalien Mind Garden. I really like this style and hope you'll upload more Texture.
Nice work Dr. Chops! |

Dr Chops I'm seriously stoked on "setting sun"...very joy division/new order-esque...i really dig that dark-merky 80's vibe...basically cult magic! |
